Gambit System - Good or Bad Empty Gambit System - Good or Bad

Post by Ptka Thu Oct 02, 2008 12:00 pm

The Gambit System in FFXII was amazing in my opinion. It was just a way that you could not have to worry about every single stupid HP potion and other things. It was fun to set up gambits and then watch your characters fight for you. Also, if you didn't want everything to be automatic you could just turn the gambit system off.

Do you guys like the Gambit system or hate it?

I actually liked it alot. It gave a new aspect to the final fantasy series, and made it more creative. I really hope they make more games like that. But I heard FFXIII Versus will be like Kingdom Hearts, and FFXIII will be like FFVII

Well a re-creation of FFVII wouldn't be bad at all. FFXIII will be epic if they make it well and don't screw the story up. Gambit System - Good or Bad 427289

the gambit system was amazing, i heard a rumor somewhere that ffxiii is going to have something like the gambit system and something from ffx so it will be a mix of both of those games.

I liked it. I could auto level really fast in a doungen (sp). I also think it is easier when it comes to potions, but it uses them up REALLY fast.

Ya, because the monsters do some much damage versus how much hp we have. -.-

True, I loved the auto-leveling. going afk and BAM 3 levels gained.

Yeah, it was fun to try out combinations and other things, just to see what happened. The thing I thought was funny but kind of cheap was the Reverse + Decoy. For those of you who don't know, you just set one of your party members to use Decoy (makes the monsters attack that one person) and then make him cast Reverse on himself. (Reverse makes damage heal you for a short period of time but you can cast it over and over again) This was a cheap strategy for taking down bosses but it just goes to show that the gambit system had some interesting uses. The system was defintely something that helped me so many times and allowed me to focus on other aspects, there were flaws with it, but considering it was a new designed system, you should expect flaws.

I hated the Gambit System. It ruined the aspect of interactive gaming for all of Final Fantasy prior to its conception. Final Fantasy was all about the ATB system where you had to constantly think on your feet of what to do before the enemy laid waste to you and your team, but now you can just program the game for you and touch the controller once every hour as you simply sit back to watch it like a Television Program? That is not the Final Fantasy I grew up loving.

I'll forgive Final Fantasy X for the CTB System which was just way too easy, but I will never forgive Final Fantasy XII for the Gambit System that made things so impossible to screw up because some people just programmed all of their characters like machines to do these actions and could sit back to let the game play itself.

    No thank you.
